In his 1892 book, North Haven Annals - A History of the Town from Its Settlement, 1680, to Its First Centennial, 1886, Sheldon Brainerd Thorpe summarized the prominent role of brickmaking in North Haven's history.

At the centennial celebration of North Haven in 1886 Solomon Lindsley dedicated the Memorial Town Hall which was built by bricks manufactured in North Haven. The town’s centennial celebration also included a parade with the first displays featuring North Haven brickmaking companies due to their prominent role in the town’s economy.
